- The Bernina Hook sews high precision stitches up to 9 mm in width with speeds up to 1000 stitches per minute, and an extra large bobbin which allows you to sew longer without interruption.
- Extended Freearm with 10 inches of space to the right of the needle.  The extra large embroidery module lets you to stitch out maxi-sized motifs.  (Embroidery area is 400 mm x 210 mm).
- Stitch Designer to create your own stitches on the 7 inch color touch screen.
- Total number of stitch patterns is 1352 (including alphabet).
- Adaptive Thread Tension, which is electronically adjusted to the selected stitch width, length, speed and needle position.
- Bernina Stitch Regulator (BSR), 790 is equipped with this function as well as Dual Feed for hard to manage fabrics.
